Edson Farm

Hiram Edson Farm

Seventeen and one-half acres of the original 55 owned by Hiram Edson are part of this historic site. Although Edson's original barn no longer stands, a barn belonging to Luther Edson, Hiram's father, has been moved and restored on the Edson farm. Also, here are picnic tables, so bring your lunch.

A Visitor Center with restrooms are opened for your convenience.  You can view a short documentary on the life of Hiram and Esther Edson and see artifacts from Edson's time.  Displayed is a 1854 Washington Hand Press like the original hand press on which that the early Advent believer published the Advent Review and Sabbath Herald. Check out our Gift Shoppe as well.

This site is sometimes referred to as "the theological birthplace of the Seventh-day Adventist church."  "It is here that the doctrines of the Sabbath and the Sanctuary came together, along with other important pillars of the SDA Church:  Salvation, Second Coming, State of the Dead, and the Spirit of Prophecy.
