Worship Service
Are you a Seventh-day Adventist pastor, wanting to bring history alive to your congregation? Adventist Heritage Ministry is dedicated to sharing the stories of our Pioneers and the great sacrifices they made to further God’s work. At Historic Adventist Village in Battle Creek, Michigan, we invite you to bring your church group to hold their Sabbath morning worship services in the 1857 Meeting House or the Parkville Church. Following church you may choose to use the picnic area for an old-fashioned picnic lunch. An early tour of the village begins at 1:00 pm sharp to allow plenty of time for your group to also visit Oak Hill Cemetery where the White family and many other pioneers are awaiting the arrival of our Saviour.
Communion Service
Enjoy an extra-special communion service in either the 1857 Meeting House or the Parkville Church. We have all the items needed for communion; just bring the bread and juice. We will do the rest for you.
Quaint Wedding location
We offer the use of our churches for an old-fashioned wedding service.
Baptism
Seal your decision to follow Christ while being baptized in the back yard of the James and Ellen White Wood Street Home.
Picnics
Looking for some place different to have your church picnic?
Come enjoy great fellowship under the trees. We have three city blocks giving you lots of room to stretch out your blankets under the trees, and set up your soccer, tennis, or volleyball nets. Then take a few minutes to visit the Wood Street home, where all 6 members of the White family once lived.
Old-Fashioned School Day
Teachers hold a day of classes, give your students an opportunity to sit in an 1850s one-room school house and learn what it was like in the olden days. Children write on slates, play the old-fashioned games that used to be played at recess and eat lunch under the trees just like “way back then”.
Volunteer for a day, a week, or even longer
Help is needed in many areas: keeping the buildings painted on a regular schedule, doing library work, carpentry work, lawn/garden care, routine general cleaning and upkeep. During tourist season, April through October, guides are needed to welcome visitors and help with tours. Look at your calendar to see when you can volunteer.
